One Response to “Anxiety: Causes and Effects”

  1. Debbie Stanglin says:

Love the show – listened to the show on the way home as I do just about everyday. Interesting topic – I will try to not sound angry in my response – but I think people that are not in the medical field or that do not have anziety, do not need to dicuss or judge something they know nothing about. I think John was very judgemental in his opinion about anxiety saying it is a sin. Yes, as you have probably concluded, I do have anxiety. (attacks) Mine is a due to the blood flow in “certain times of the month”. I do not have an episode every month and at the on set of one I take a perscribed medication (Lexopro). The Dr at first perscribed it for me to take everyday, but I do not want to be dependant on something on a daily basis when my body has shown me that it is not necessary. I used to have migraine headaches at that “certain time of the month” but have not had one of those in years. Maybe I misunderstood your definition of anxiety, but what I have is not just the pacing of the floor or rubbing of the hands, if you will, my symptoms can actually make you think yhou are having a heart attack. I know that you nor anyone else wanted to hurt any feelings today or be insinsitive, but insinsitive is really what it appeared to be. I did not have my phone and would have really rather called in. I still love you and your show, but something that Doctor’s really don’t know how to explain shouldn’t be up for such harsh dicussion from people that are ingnorant to the subject. I would love to see John and you in front of someone that is having an anxiety episode so you could see that it is a real thing and not just an “act of worry”.

    Love in Christ
    Debbie
